Saytify for Developers: Dictate Prompts to Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT

Good prompts take typing you do not have time for.

Illustrative image

Why it fits

Speak long, specific prompts to Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT

Identifiers and paths kept in Latin letters

Commit messages and PR descriptions without leaving the keyboard flow

Sample dictations

Refactor the auth module and add tests for the token refresh path.
اشرح لي الـ stack trace هذا وقل لي وين المشكلة.

The problem: the bottleneck moved from writing code to describing it

AI coding tools changed what a developer types. The hard part is no longer the function body; it is the paragraph that explains to Claude Code, Cursor or ChatGPT what the function should do, which files matter, what must not change, and how to test it. A good prompt is three to five sentences. A great one is a dozen. Nobody enjoys typing a dozen sentences twenty times a day.

So people type short prompts, get mediocre results, and type again. The fix is not a better model; it is getting your full thought into the box in one go.

How Saytify helps

Hold a key or a mouse button, explain the task the way you would to a colleague, release. The full prompt appears in the chat box, cleaned up, with your identifiers spelled correctly.

  • Speak five sentences in fifteen seconds. Long prompts stop being a cost, so you give the model the context it actually needs.
  • Identifiers survive. English words, file names, function names and acronyms stay in Latin letters even inside an Arabic sentence; Saytify never translates “the handler” into Arabic.
  • Mixed Arabic-English that reads correctly in VS Code and Chrome. Saytify inserts the invisible direction marks that keep bilingual sentences in the right order in left-to-right inputs.
  • A Code/Notes style that avoids sentence-casing surprises and keeps punctuation minimal when you want it that way.
  • Personal dictionary for your repo. Add package names, module names and your team’s jargon once; they come out right every time.
  • Push-to-talk on any key or mouse button. Dictation does not steal keyboard focus, so you stay in the editor.
  • Fully offline. Your prompts, your code snippets and your client names never leave the machine. There is no cloud transcription step between you and the model you chose.

Dictation scenarios

Prompt to Claude Code (mixed Arabic and English)

اعمل function في ملف orders.service.ts تاخذ الـ user id وترجع الـ orders مرتبة حسب التاريخ تنازلياً، استخدم الـ repository الموجود ولا تغيّر الـ schema، وأضف unit test في نفس المجلد.

Prompt to Cursor (English)

Refactor the authentication middleware so that token validation is extracted into its own module under src/auth. Keep the public interface identical, add JSDoc comments to every exported function, and make sure the existing integration tests in tests/auth still pass without modification.

Commit message

Fix race condition in the upload queue by awaiting the flush before closing the stream, and add a regression test for the empty-queue case.

Code review comment (GitHub, Arabic with English terms)

الـ query هنا يعمل N+1، الأفضل تجمع الـ ids وتعمل استدعاء واحد بـ where in، وكمان الـ error handling في السطر 42 يبلع الـ exception بدون log.

Bug report in the tracker

On Windows 11 with the Arabic keyboard layout active, the date picker shows the week starting on Monday instead of Sunday. Steps: open Settings, choose Reports, click the date field. Expected Sunday first, actual Monday first. Happens on version 2.4.1, not on 2.3.

Developer tips

  • Describe the goal, the constraints and the test in one breath. Dictation makes it cheap to include all three, and the model’s output improves more than any prompt trick.
  • Map the talk key to a mouse side button so your hands stay on the keyboard home row and the mouse.
  • Seed the dictionary with your identifiers at the start of a project: service names, env variable names, team acronyms.
  • Dictate the pull-request description, not just the code. Reviewers thank you.
  • Use Light accuracy for chat with the model, High for anything that ships (docs, commit messages, user-facing strings).
  • Run the voice commands for Windows when your hands are busy: “New Tab”, “Close Tab”, “Snap Left”, “Screenshot”, “Clipboard History”.
